John Oleson's Islero Restoration Project (Denmark)

In its original white paint before the work started.

The Islero as it looked before any work started.

Down to bare sheet metal.

Some of the new sheet metal in place.

Looks rough now but it will improve.

Stripped and ready for painting.

New metal and ready for priming.

View of stripped Islero from passenger side.

The rear view of the stripped car.

The new epoxy-based primer is applied to the new sheet metal.

Some of the new primer is sanded to perfection.

Block sanding the primer smooths out the lines of the hood.

The lines are now almost free of any ripples.

Yet another coat of epoxy-based primer goes on.

Now ready for the final block sanding prior to actual painting.

Back view of the car in orange primer. Final, final coat??

Another view of the orange primer.

A side view.

From the front. Starting to look much better.

The original engine. Needs some work, obviously.

The transmission and engine awaiting a lot of attention.

The new black metallic paint job as seen from the front.

A view of the newly-painted black metallic hood.

The black metallic paint job from the front side view.

Finally, a view of the top. I like the black better!

Paint and body work is almost finished. Should be ready in July for driving!

The gray interior is nearly completed.

Tranny and engine are all together now and cleaned up.

The engine has been blasted clean with dry ice!

View at the front of the newly cleaned Islero engine.

Up on the stand and starting to look real good!
