Some Photos taken of the 2007 San Diego fires. This was the view from our evacuation point at the Steele Canyon High School

which is located less than 1/2 mile from my house. The fires seen were heading for my house but the firefighters were able to

stop it and save my house and those of all my neighbors.

The hillside is fully engulfed in flames.

It looks like embers are starting new fires everywhere.

The fire line has crested the hill and is moving down towards the highway.

At this point, the entire hillside is burning. I could feel the heat from a block away.

We had firefighters there as a backup at the evacuation center.

Not a pleasant sight to see as the fire advances.

More hot spots in the distance. That area is directly above my house.

Another shot of the hillside in flames.

The big helicoptors helped a bit by dropping large buckets of water.

Heading back for more water. There was a reservoir not far away.

This was taken as the fire crested the ridge.

Here the California Highway Patrol discusses road closures.

Here is another load of water coming in.
