Photos taken during the Willow Springs Race Track Event

1 November, 2005

One of 3 Loti (plural of Lotus) with a third of James’ very big trailer in the background

Key players. James (left) Nick (the driver, right) and the crew (in black shirts), letting Alex sit in the Minardo F1

The very frequently applied starting procedure.

We did have time for an excellent catered lunch

One of the very impressive headers. Notice two outputs per cylinder (one per valve)

The cockpit. When running, I noticed that the idle speed was 2700 rpm and it would stall at about 2200

The skin is applied to the car - ready to race.

Last second preparations and the “proud father” with the steering wheel.

Push-off with the engine running

Alex’s fast 911 Turbo ++. It was fast, but still a few bugs to iron out. This, fortunately caught in time, was a repairable burnt turbo coolant hose.

The crew finally was finally confident in the fuel starvation diagnose, so we got half a lap each time fuel was added.

Returning from the final half lap. Everybody was excited by the experience and Nick had a permanent smile on his face.

And off he goes!

Coming in 4A.

Pretty engine shot.

Firing up the Minardi.

Into the Esses.

Into the turn.

James checks out the seating arrangements.

James's trailer. Nice markings.

Nice shot of the Minardi Lambo.

Nick is getting comfortable in the Minardi.

Nick takes a break from the rigors of racing the Minardi.

On the track.

Out of the sweeper.
